December 21, 2012 is only slightly more than a year away. Wherefore, I'm sure many people are already starting to panic about the Mayan prophecies that that day either spells doom and gloom or the awakening of a new golden age. However, regardless of which one of those two facets makes its mark on humanity, I would like to know if people will be too afraid to celebrate Christmas a few days later? Therefore, what's your opinion on this subject? Furthermore, will you make preparations for and celebrate Christmas next year or prepare to hide in a cave?

And what exactly is this Mayan prophesy of doom? I thought it was just an end to a calendar, just like we have each December31st. I bet they would have started another calendar if the Spaniards hadn't paid them a nice visit. Can't wait until 2013, which will undoubtedly arrive just fine.

    Believing in the Mayan calendar is as useless as believing in christmas. The American celebration of xmas is total worship of the corporate god and not Jesus.

      Meh. Even if it was true would running for a cave accomplish anything? Newp. I"ll live my life, celebrate the Holy Day and let the chips fall where they may.

      Neither of the predictions will happen: The world will not end on December 21, 2012. Furthermore, a golden age will not arrive on December 21, 2012 either.
