There are several categories of dreamers. First, there's the people who have dreams all the time when they sleep. Then, there are those who only have dreams every once in a while. Another category of dreamer, which can be connected to the previous two categories are those who dream in color. And the final type are people who dream in black and white. Therefore, which of these dreamer categories do you fit into?

random story

when I was a kid I was big fan of the 6 million dollar man. one week, I dreamed I was him every night, and each night the dream would end with a "to be continued..." banner. The next night it would pick up where the previous night had left off.

needless to say, I saved the day.

I'm generally a happy dreamer...lost loved ones come to me in dreams...and sometimes I really, really hate to wake up.

Yeah if I remember right dreaming is fairly quick in real time(2 hours or less), but they feel like they last hours sometimes.

The dreams I like are when you barely wake up and you haven't realized it was a dream yet.

I used to dream about flying quite a lot, but I haven't in a long time. That was the greatest, I hated waking up. I've also dreamed that I can breath under water, that's pretty cool too.

I have a very vivid imagination lol. When I was 6, I watched Jurassic Park for the first time. I awoke crying and scared because I saw myself in the back of the car with Jeff Goldbloom with this gigantic dinosaur roaring and running after us. LOL It was all in color and everything. I had sound effects directly from the movie and I could hear Jeff Goldbloom saying "Must go faster, must go faster." XD

Loved that movie...and I adore Jeff Goldblum, if I was being chased by a dinosaur I'd want him with me!

I can relate, though not from war, watching my late husband go through his illness (AO) and the end. For a long time. Then I stopped. I told myself I would dream about the good times, the funny times...it worked for me. I said dream, dream good times, several times to myself ...before I went to sleep..I'm not young either so I don't know if it would work for you. (((((Midnight Toker)))))

I dream in color and I can change things in my dream while I am dreaming.

I've done that! Sort of like stopping the movie and changing the scene...I'd be dreaming and think "No, I don't like that, I don't want that to happen"...and the dream would change!

I don't dream, I nightmare. Have since I was a toddler still do now as an older person. I have had the same dream for weeks on end. I have woken up smoked a cigarette gone to the bathroom and fallen right back into a nightmare I woke myself up from.

          Interesting poll. thanks!

As far as a dream lasting longer than 15 minutes- first of all, isn't it a known fact that dreams generally only last a few minutes but feel like much longer to the person experiencing them? I've heard of studies that are done to record brainwaves that indicate a dream state. Secondly, how is it possible to actually know the answer to this question if you are in such a deep sleep and can't actively and consciously record the timeframe of a dream?
