There's one question that seems to be rambling in my mind. In fact, it's been there for quite some time. How come people do not show up to court on the specified date assigned to them to complete jury duty? This makes no sense to me at all. It's like, yes, jury duty is a complete knob up the behind. However, skipping jury duty has serious consequences for those who do so. He or she may be fined up to $2000.00 (or more) and serve jail time. Furthermore, there's a warrant out for their arrest. Wherefore, he or she is basically a fugitive until that person gets caught. Nevertheless, if they had just shown up on that specific court date, completed the agonizing waiting period, and got dismissed, he or she could have gone on with daily life hassle-free.
