Bela Karolyi had coached several great gymnasts such as Nadia Comaneci, Mary Lou Retton, and Kim Zmeskal. Furthermore, he was the ringmaster over the Romanian gymnastics team for years before moving to America to set up camp here. Then in 1992, during the Barcelona Olympics, he decided to retire from being a coach in this sport. However, shortly afterwards, he came back to coach Kim Zmeskal and Svetlana Boginskaya in preparation for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Moreover, he was there to share in the glory of the Magnificent Seven as they won gold in the team final. After that, he played vital roles, along with his wife, in the U.S. gymnastics system for several subsequent Olympics. Unfortunately, it's been years since this man has actually stepped into a gym to coach aspiring gymnasts and to mold them into worldwide legends. Therefore, for this discussion, do you think Bela Karolyi should coach gymnasts once more at the national level or should he remain a powerful influence over the sport from behind the scenes?
