Last thursday, August 30th, between 9:50 am and 10:05 am, I sat and pondered in disappointment over the fact that Baby Girl, Aaliyah Haughton, was no longer with us in the physical realm. It seemed like a mega-disappointment that this extraordinary woman with such huge potential was taken from us at the young age of 22 years. Furthermore, the lost of so many new innovations in music and the countless movies she would have starred in such as "Honey," "Matrix" sequels, and possibly even television sitcoms, made the wound even more bitter.
However, while mentally-sulking over all the great misses, something exhilarating dawned on me. I began thinking about the Millennium. And then I started wondering about Aaliyah. Next thing before I knew it, the two ideas combined! Yes, if Aaliyah Dana Haughton is with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven, then she obviously must be coming back to the earth to reign and rule with Him and all the other believers during those 1000 years.
Can you imagine that? One thousand years for Aaliyah to shine like the brightest stars in the heavens! Whatever albums, movies, and other projects that she had planned, before she died in a plane crash, will be fulfilled during those upcoming years! Even better, she'll be immortal inside a resurrected body, so her fans will never have to worry about losing her again. And who knows, except God, what else she might accomplish within that long timeframe.
Moreover, if other celebrities like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Timbaland, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Static of Playa, Missy Elliott, Tweet, Drake, Usher, and Ashanti ever come into accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, they too will be apart of this awesome vision! Just think about that: A collaboration of many different albums produced by Timbaland and Drake with Alicia Keys singing a duet along with Aaliyah. That would not only be sensational, but also a dream come true for her fans and complete satisfaction for these yearning music artists as well.
Now, you might think that this is crazy. Nevertheless, there is somewhat of a similar scenario in the bible that we can use as reference to this. There are two people who lived a long time ago, during Old Testament times, who did not complete their purpose on this planet before God took them to heaven. First up, Enoch. Enoch was taken to heaven at the ripe age of 365 years (Genesis 5:24). And the other person was Elijah, the prophet (2 Kings 2:11). While walking with his apprentice Elisha, another prophet, God transferred Elijah to heaven inside a chariot of fire drawn by horses of fire. Therefore, both servants were taken before their time. Nevertheless, God still has a plan for them both during the tribulation period. During those 1260 days of the first half of the tribulation, God will send Enoch and Elijah back to the earth to fulfill their purpose (Revelation 11:3-12). These two witnesses will speak prophetically and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to those left behind after the rapture of the Christian church.
