This season of Downton Abbey has been a rather unusual boredom in comparison to the previous two seasons. Basically, the Crawleys are worried about upkeeping and keeping the estate from sliding into the red zone. Furthermore, Mr. Bates is being conspired against while being held a prisoner in jail. Nevertheless, I have to hand it to them, last night was a full swing of the baseball bat: The screenwriters really went all out to keep their fan base watching. On episode 4, Lady Sybil Crawley, youngest of the three daughters, received a boot from the show, when she died from birth complications. Now, though this shocking sequence of events has certainly put a shiver up my spine, I'm wondering if this was a good decision by getting rid of this well beloved character? Even more, could the absence of Sybil Crawley send ratings tumbling down below absolute zero or will they crescendo to newer heights?
