When many people think of Christianity, they think of an escape exit from the lake of fire. However, though we may not see them now, there are actually several other benefits to accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Here are just a few of them.
.) Rapture. Yes, one day Jesus Christ promised that He would come back to receive His people and bring them back to heaven where they will be with Him forever. This event is called the 'Rapture.' This historical moment in human history will see countless millions of people worldwide vanish from the earth as they are translated into new bodies and ushered off to heaven.
.) Resurrected Body. Here's another attribute that will be bestowed upon those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. They shall receive a body that is immune to sickness and disease. Just imagine having a body that no longer is subdued by influenza, back pain, kidney stones, HIV, cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, hepatitis, and any of the other thousands of problems we currently suffer with our bodies in this age. It would be fantastic! And Christ will make due on this during the Rapture.
.) Rewards. Found throughout sections of the new testament including Revelation, Jesus and others mention born again believers receiving different kinds of crowns; depending on the activity conducted by the believer. Furthermore, unlike other types of crowns, these kinds of crowns are imperishable. Wherefore, when the believer receives one of these crowns or several, he or she will be wearing that thing forever! Try doing that with the ones made by human hands. Even more, there are other rewards that Jesus will hand out to His followers during the Bema judgment; which will definitely include various positions in His ruling administration.
.) Marriage Supper of the Lamb. While hell is breaking loose upon the earth during the Tribulation period for those who rejected Christ as Lord and Savior, there will be a magnificent grand feast in heaven, which all raptured believers will participate in. Unlike the feasts held on earth, this celebration may last for many of the years of the Tribulation. Another neat thing about this is that believers from all the ages will be represented and seating down to enjoy fellowship as one big gigantic family. So people may see ancestors they never knew they had as well as familiar faces and renowned faces as well.
.) Millennium. When Jesus Christ returns back to the earth at the culmination of the Tribulation, He will defeat the antichrist, false prophet, their massive armies, and bound Satan in the bottomless pit for 1000 years. Afterward, He will set up His administration on the face of the earth and rule all the nations with great wisdom. Furthermore, those who were rewarded at the Bema judgment will be priests who will rule over the whole earth and throughout all the nations under Jesus's divine authority.
.) Judging Angels. Not only will born again believers rule and judge the nations during the 1000 years of the Millennium, but they shall also judge the angels. This is huge, because currently, Angels are much more powerful and keen than humans; so for God to give believers this type authority indicates that He has big plans for redeemed humanity!
.) New Heavens. After the Great White Throne Judgment, God will recreate the heavens and make the universe a much better place to live in. Now, no one knows, besides God, exactly what this renovated universe may look like, except the fact that a new earth will be there and a New Jerusalem. Moreover, the New Jerusalem will not need the light from the moon or the sun since God will reside in it forever. However, whether the stars, galaxies, other planets and moons will be included in the new heavens remains inconclusive. Nevertheless, those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior will be there to see the creation of the new heavens and whatever may be present inside it during that particular age.
.) New Earth. Inside the refurbished heavens, God will improve the earth. Possibly, this new earth could be much larger than the current one; because the New Jerusalem is colossal. This extraordinary city would take up half of the United States of America if it were to ascend down from heaven and inhabit the current earth! Furthermore, from the scriptures at the beginning of Revelation 21, the apostle John describes the new earth as having no more sea.
.) New Jerusalem. Another neat thing about being a born again believer is this bejeweled city from God. This place will be the eternal residence of all believers in Christ. The city will be the central hub of the new earth and possibly the whole new universe since God will sit forevermore on His throne there. On top of that, His pure light will engulf the whole New Jerusalem; so there will be no need for candle light, sun light, or moon light: This light will be found in every single section of the city: A city that is 1500 miles in length, 1500 miles in breadth, and 1500 miles in height! This light from God is so ubiquitous that night doesn't even exist in the New Jerusalem.
.) Tree of Life. Found inside the New Jerusalem will be the very same tree that was taken from Adam and Eve after they committed sin and were ousted out of the garden of Eden. This tree once again will be restored to humanity and people will gladly partake of it. The tree(s) will bear twelve different kinds of fruit and yield them on a monthly basis. Not only that, but believers will also be able to drink the pure water of life that flows from God's throne found at the center of the main pure gold street in the New Jerusalem.
.) Reigning Forevermore. Many people think that God will restrict the resurrected believers to reigning and ruling with Christ Jesus only during the 1000 years of the Millennium. However, God has big big big plans for those who enter the next age known as the Eternal State. As mentioned in Revelation 22, He plans to have the believers rule forevermore on the new earth and maybe even throughout the new heavens!
.) Eternal Life. John 3:15-18 informs readers that those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior shall receive eternal life. This means that after a person confesses their sins to Christ, asks Him for forgiveness from those sins; and asks Christ to come into his or her life as Lord and Savior, Jesus accepts that person into His family and his or her name is written in the Book of Life (Revelation 20). Therefore, when he or she dies, that person shall live forever in the presence of God and shall not see death ever again! This is definitely an awesome gift from God; because it is not earned by believers; but given to them through grace. Christ did all the work on the cross, all someone has to do is have the faith to believe. Then, eternal life and all the other wonderful things, mentioned above, will be added through a continuous daily walk and active relationship with Christ.
.) God. In Revelation 21, God promises to dwell forever with His people. Therefore, there is no need for a temple. This is most likely the best neat thing of all, because the One who great all the stars, galaxies, planets, moons, etc. chooses to not reside far away from redeemed humanity; but very near to them. And just think of all the incredible imponderables He will describe to His servants: Amazing stuff from throughout eternity's past including the creation of our current universe and very elusive aspects of our world like the existence of subatomic particles smaller than quarks!
